We Had Another Baby!! // And Other Fun Things (;

Hello Lovelies!

One year and five months later I have returned from the woes of a busy life to bring you [A SINGULAR] **update**! (But hopefully more updates and things in the future!)

Well, as you can tell from the title, WE HAD ANOTHER BABY! It's a boy, his name is Camden, Harrison and him are 21 months apart(born in May 2017), and we absolutely love having two kids.

Its tough, I will be the first one to admit. But the sweetness that I've seen Harrison exhibit towards his brother, the smiles and giggles from Camden, the overall love that our family has experienced because of our sweet second little man entering the world is so worth all the tough days.

Harrison is almost TWO, (HOW?) he knows all of his colors, a bunch of letters, and we are working on numbers and counting as well. He LOVES to draw, paint, play with stickers, and really anything artsy (He's my kid, what can I say?).

Life at home is crazy new and awesome as well, because, WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! Right before C was born, we bought our very first house and moved from our two bedroom, tiny apartment to a four bedroom double the space house with a GARAGE, and a BACK YARD, with GRASS! Ya'll, can you tell we're excited? Because we SO are.. I am beyond grateful for all that the Lord has done in our lives over the past year and more, we have seen his hand in every aspect of our life and I can't wait to see what else he has for us in the future.
“When you stop trying to control your life and instead allow your anxieties and problems to bring you to God in prayer, you shift from worry to watching. You watch God weave his patterns in the story of your life... Instead of fighting anxiety, we can use it as a springboard to bending our hearts to God. Instead of trying to suppress anxiety, manage it, or smother it with pleasure, we can turn our anxiety toward God. When we do that, we’ll discover that we’ve slipped into continuous praying.” -Paul Miller
Along with the crazy good that has happened, we have also felt our fair share of bad. Alistair recently found out that his job site was closing and was sent home on a furlough, effective immediately, for an unknown amount of time. We are currently in the midst of that big news, asking the Lord to provide for our needs as we look for a new job. It's so crazy though, the Lord tells us to stay in Columbia, we buy a house, and then he takes away our job - only so that we can learn to lean on Him, overcome our pride, humble ourselves before God and before our family & friends, and ask - pray - beg for the Lord to provide the means and money to pay our bills.

We have seen the Lord's provision, albeit not in the ways that we would have wanted (hense the overcoming our pride comment above), but are still boldly stepping out and asking Him for a Job, and for His peace in this situation. Prayer has become a near constant state in our house as we learn how to interact in this new stage of life. It's so hard when you have a groove, and then you add another person to it who doesn't know the groove, and you're trying to find a new groove including that person.

God is also majorly teaching us the difference between a *NEED* and a *WANT* as we are cutting back on everything and re-evaluating our budget in this time. It's uncomfortable, for sure, but the Lord never promised that we would always live a comfortable life.

So all of that to say, Hello, we are here, happy most of the time, relying on God ALWAYS and more than we ever have before, searching for a job, asking for God's providence, and figuring out life one day at a time.

XOXO
Leah
